My Boy Calvin!

My sweet 18 year old orangie has cancer - in his stomach, or actually around his stomach. He is a fighter, and we're going to do everything we can until he lets us know that his time is up.

He has had one round of chemo, and will go tomorrow for another round if his bloodwork is okay, and if he is strong enough.

Calvin was my aunt's cat and when she passed away, we were lucky enough to have him join our family. He is truly the heart of this family, and we're praying for a miracle. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Cats, Cats, and More Cats!

Somebody had the ridiculous idea that today should be A Day Without Cats! So, they deemed 9/9/09 as a day of cat-free web surfing! Being part of the wonderful community of Catster for over three years, I am disappointed that The Cat's Meow Blog would participate in a day of cat-free anything!

So, in complete contrast to that crazy idea, I have declared The Cat in the Clover as a day of cat cuteness . . . . . . . because with all the bad stuff in the world, you can never have enough cuteness to brighten your life!

CATS RULE!

Happy Labor Day!

After spending the late hours of last night chasing his sister and playing in the mini-blinds, Newman knows how to celebrate Labor Day!

Have a fun holiday, and find time to do some chillaxin!

Little Black Kitty Update!

Little black kitty is a girl! After taking her to the vet and shaving her belly, the spay scar was discovered! I'm happy that she will not be bringing more kittens into this world.

The vet estimated her age to be around 1 or 2. She got all her shots and a dewormer too. She was so good in the carrier, and didn't cry in the car - wish all of mine were that good in the car!

I've given her a name - mainly so I don't have to call her little black kitty anymore! Her eyes are a beautiful shade of green, and after finding out that Vivien Leigh had green eyes and loved cats, I'm calling her Vivien! My Mom loved Gone With the Wind, so I'm sure she would approve!

Now, Vivien needs a home before winter gets here! She is very sweet, loves to sit on laps, and would make a wonderful pet. If you are in the Louisville, Kentucky, area, please tell your friends about her!
