Best Friends Visit

Ted and I had the most wonderful week in Utah. We stayed in Snowbird at a beautiful ski resort right against the mountains - which still had snow on them! We had a rental car and took several day trips around various parts of Utah.

The highlight of my vacation was a trip to Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah. They have been my charity of choice for several years, and I was so excited to visit their wonderful facility which is home for over 2,000 animals - dogs, cats, horses, pigs, birds, rabbits, and other wildlife. This no-kill shelter has a 75% adoption rate.

We took a morning tour, and then volunteered in the afternoon. I went to one of the cat buildings to socialize with the kitties, while Ted took Charles de Dog on an outing in town. It was an experience I will never forget, and I hope to visit again someday.

Before our volunteer session started, we stopped by Angel's Rest. It is the Best Friends' cemetery, and it was quite a moving experience.

I hope you enjoy the slideshow, and if you're ever in Utah, you have to visit the sanctuary - you won't be disappointed!

Thanks for posting the slide show. I am so glad you got to visit and most importantly volunteer. Best Friends is such a wonderful place. We visit every year, of course it isn't that far from us, and what a wonderful and beautiful place it is.
