Stray Cat No. 7, who is now named Kitty, made it to her new home. Here she is with Rocky Ann. They are both so pretty in pink!
Speaking of pink, tomorrow at Kentucky Oaks day at Churchill Downs, there will be a Pink Out! They are asking eveyone in attendance to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
One hundred thirty-five cancer survivors will form a parade to bring the horses from the stable to the track for the running of the Oaks. They will also form a horseshoe in the winner's circle where the winning filly is presented with a garland of pink star gazer lilies!
Have your own Pink Out tomorrow - Rocky Ann and Kitty will be looking pawsome in pink!

Just a Big Softie - or Two!
The Hickory Heights Stray Cat Softies are getting adopted before they are even found! The request for this first kitty below was to be on the lookout for a pink, girly kitty wearing a bow at her ear.
Well, look what I found down by our garden! What is more girly than pink whiskers? Her name is Kitty, and she will be flying to California.
Another request came in to look for a German princess stray cat! Who would have thought that Fraulein Prinzessin would be found in Kentucky? She obviously didn't spend too much time outside because her white fur is nice and clean! She must have been one of those throw-out-the-window-of-the-limo strays.

She is a gift, so I can't tell you where she is going to live until she gets there. Besides, princesses like to have some mystery to their lives!

Birds of a Feather!
Not only to birds stick together, but pet lovers do too! The owner of the Feline Feathers Etsy shop, who makes super cute items like these catnip mice, also has a blog.
On her blog, Feline Feathers, she features various Etsy shops that sell pet related items. Today she featured my Etsy shop's Ring-A-Ding toys! What an honor - thank you so much!
Be sure to check out Feline Feathers and all the other great pet lovers who create fun items on Etsy!

Love Your Mother!
It seems like there is one holiday right after another, and I'm trying to keep two steps ahead in my Etsy shop! Today I listed Mother's Day neckties. Newman was thrilled to model his tie for me!
For cats that have previously purchased a collared necktie, you can purchase the ties individually. They have velcro on the back to attach to the band.

I loved the fabric - it screamed Mother's Day to me! Well, maybe it didn't scream, but I probably did when I found it!

Cats Outta Bag Now!
Recently I've found some cute cat cotton fabric, and have been thinking about various items I can make. I finished my first purse/totebag/marketbag/handbag/whatever you want to call it!
When I told Ted what I was making, he laughed because I have a whole closet full of totebags! I love me a good totebag, but most of the ones I have are from vacation destinations or have company logos on them. This totebag would get elevated to the purse closet!

This roomy, fully lined and interfaced goodie is available in my Etsy shop! I'll be making more, so if you're not crazy about this fabric (but you should be because it is so colorful, and it will match anything in your closet), check back later!

Auction to Help a Catster Family
There is an on-line auction that is being done by a Catster group to help raise funds to rehome 15 kitties in Tennessee who are victims of the economic crisis and some tragic personal events.
All the cats are extremely well cared for and healthy. Their owner had previously been registered as a rescue, but is not currently. They live on acreage that provides a comfortable home for the 30 cats involved.
You can read more about their story, and check out the great auction items here! You can bid on items in the comment section for each item listed. Please leave an email contact with your bid amount. Instructions are included at the blog.

Special Order Nurse!
I've had fun creating my Etsy shop's Stray Cat Softies! This is Stray Cat #5 who had a home before she even became a stray! Wouldn't it be great if real stray cats could find a home that quickly?
Stray Cat #5 is Nurse Pansy! She will be going to Canada to live with Zorro Cat - another stray cat softie that wandered into my yard!
Nurse Pansy never goes anywhere without her nurse's hat, nametag, or stethoscope!

She wears a special glittery white pansy cape to help her quickly get to her patients!
The world can always use another good nurse, don't you agree?
